Background Screening Disclosures

Village Helpers consent to identity verification, a background check and reference checks before their profile is published, and to periodic renewals. Screening is currently performed by our team through authorized channels (including Texas DPS records) and may in future be performed by a consumer reporting agency, in which case the required FCRA disclosures and authorizations will be provided separately.

A screening status shown on a profile means only that the described step was completed on the date recorded. It does not mean a helper is safe, suitable, licensed or endorsed by us. Records can be incomplete, out of date or limited to certain jurisdictions.

Credential badges (for example CPR or first aid) appear only after we have viewed documentation and recorded an expiration date. Families should ask to see certificates themselves and verify anything important to their decision.

Families are solely responsible for their own hiring decisions, including conducting their own interviews, reference calls and any additional screening they consider appropriate.
